What oud is — and what it is not

Oud is a note, not a performance claim and not a requirement for “real” Arabian perfume. Two current bottles name agarwood (oud) in the pyramid: Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud and Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst. Other woody bottles use sandalwood, dry wood, birch, driftwood, patchouli or amberwood instead.
